Due to its mouthwatering regional cuisine, historic architecture, and green spaces, many people think of Berlin as the ideal location for a city getaway. Millions of tourists visit the city each year, and the opening of Berlin's new airport will enhance their trips by ushering in a new era of air travel.
There are many ways to get from Brandenburg Airport (BER) to the city center, and those ways are all very well connected. Although there is a dependable network of trains and buses, Brandenburg airport taxis are the most practical choice. Depending on the mode of transportation you select, your trip will take anywhere between 30 and 50 minutes.
Taxis at the Brandenburg airport are simple to find. Keep an eye out for the cream or beige cars with illuminated yellow or black roof signs as you exit the airport. You can find them at the ranks at the exits which are open all day, but it's important to note that you might have to wait 5 to 15 minutes for a taxi to become available. However, it is generally agreed upon that taking a taxi from Brandenburg Airport to the center of Berlin is the quickest and most feasible choice.
You can anticipate paying €49 for your transportation to the city center under normal circumstances. It usually takes 40 minutes to reach the city center by taxi. The €49 fare should cover the cost of your luggage, the time it takes to get there, the initial fare, and the travel distance. If your group is larger than four people, additional fees for a larger vehicle might be charged.
You should be able to see the taxi ranks outside the airport as you exit terminal A. If you're having trouble finding the designated waiting area, keep an eye out for the signs or ask an airport employee.
An easier and safer way to get to the city center is by taking a taxi rather than using the public transportation system. A private vehicle offers more personal space than a bus or train does. Due to the heavy traffic at the airport, it's important to be aware that you might have to wait a while for a taxi to become available. As a result of congested streets in the city center, your trip may be delayed.
Berlin's main airport, Brandenburg (BER), has a sophisticated bus network that runs continuously day and night to the city center. The quickest option, X7, takes between 9 and 12 minutes to connect to Rudow U-Bahn metro station. The bus is accessible from 05:30 am to 01:15 am and runs every 10 minutes. Due to numerous stops, the 163 and 171 take between 45 and 55 minutes to complete their route. Additionally, these buses cease to work a couple of hours before the X7. The N7 and N60 night buses take about 30 minutes to get to Rudow U-Bahn or Adlershof S-Bahn for passengers arriving at night.
You can buy a bus ticket at the main terminal ticket office or from machines located inside the airport. Adults pay €3.40, while children between the ages of 6 and 14 pay €2.50.
You should be able to see the bus stations outside the airport's terminals A and B when you leave. Staff at the airport will be able to assist you if you're uncertain which bus to board.
It's not the most comfortable option to travel by bus from Brandenburg airport to the center of Berlin because of the frequent stops and shared seating. The price might be less than a taxi, but the trip won't be as dependable or safe. In addition, faster rail options are available for the same cost as a bus ticket.
Berlin has an effective rail system with stations spread out throughout the city, similar to many other major cities in Europe. Travelers at Brandenburg Airport can reach the station in about 5 minutes by way of an enclosed walkway. With a travel time of roughly 30 minutes, the Express trains RB14 and RE7 are the fastest. These regional trains only run twice an hour, though. The S9 travels more frequently than the Express trains along the S-Bahn local railway route, passing every 5 to 20 minutes. The trip takes 40 minutes instead, which is a little bit longer.
Make sure you buy a ticket that is valid for zones ABC because Brandenburg Airport is situated in Berlin's most remote zone (zone C). For adults, this will cost €3.40, and for children aged 6 to 14, it will cost €2.50.
Brandenburg airport is a five-minute stroll from the train station. As you leave the arrivals hall, keep an eye out for the signs. Go to the S-Bahn platform when you arrive at the station to board the S9 or the Express trains RB14/RE7.
Berlin's effective rail network makes taking the train a fantastic option. Although a direct airport transfer with a reputed transportation company, like LimoFahr, would be safer and more comfortable. But using the train is always an option because there is no chance of traffic delays and the Express trains RB14/RE7 is especially convenient because of their 30-minute travel time.
